Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival Presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino continues local scholarship program

to Award $20,000 in Scholarship Funding to Outstanding Members of
Riverside County High School Seniors Class of 2024
Indio, CA – January 11, 2024 – Butler Amusements, in collaboration with Pickering Events LLC, producers of the family-favorite Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, will award $20,000 in scholarship funding for qualifying high school seniors in the Class of 2024.
"Ten winners will receive $2,000 each to pursue their studies beyond high school," said Chris Pickering, CEO of Pickering Events. "Winners will also receive a Season Pass to the 2024 Fair & Date Fest, which begins on February 16.”
"Last year, we were able to help deserving students achieve their goals, and we are excited to continue that this year. By applying for the Date Festival Scholarship, students will become part of a 76-year tradition. The Fair & Date Fest is the largest event in the county centered on celebrating community achievement. In addition to awarding Blue Ribbons, we want to honor and emphasize exceptional student achievement," added Pickering.

To be considered for a Date Festival Scholarship award, students will be required to have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 (unweighted). They must complete the Date Festival Scholarship Application online at https://www.datefest.org/p/about/scholarships2024, submit a 500-word essay on the topic “The Importance of Community,” provide unofficial transcripts grades including unweighted cumulative GPA from the attendance office plus official transcripts, and submit their school identification card.
All required information must be properly submitted by Monday, January 22, by 11:59 p.m., and FINALISTS must be available for a Zoom interview either the morning of February 3 or the afternoon of February 4. Once eligible submissions are reviewed, finalists will be notified by February 7.
From February 16-25, 2024, The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino takes place at the Riverside County Fairgrounds at 46350 Arabia St., Indio, 92201. For ten days, feature attractions unique to Riverside County will include exhilarating carnival rides, live music, date cooking demonstrations, Blue Ribbon competitions, cute farm animals, and your favorite fair foods.
